Excitement and pride filled the Byron Center community on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 as Byron Center Public Schools held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to introduce the new school, Heritage Elementary! This school is a wonderful addition for both students and staff, and will support student learning and district growth in the upcoming years.

Heritage Elementary is a historic building for the district. It originally began as Byron Center High School, then became Byron Center Middle School and later transitioned into Nickels Intermediate School. Now, the newly renovated building will serve as a fourth elementary school for BCPS. The additional school will alleviate overcrowding in the elementary buildings and allow for future growth in the district.

This project could not have been completed without support from the Byron Center Community! Thank you for your support. Stay tuned for continued construction around the district during the 2024-2025 school year!
